I think I would choose:

I'm having major problems with "collective century" - every reference I can find is to a historical recognition of the 100 years of socialism across Europe from the 1870 revolutions, while "5 Important Inventions in Our Century" starts when GWBush took office.

Nuclear Weapons (changed geopolitics forever)

Aircraft

Automobiles (both cars and planes have completely changed peoples lives, made the world smaller, given us more freedom, helped to ensure we became dependent on ever increasing quantities of oil and are the basis of how our economies and lives work now)

Computers: The information revolution is what is changing the world now in many ways, that and the other 4 are the things that are decisevly influencing everything that is happening that you see right now.

Sorry Spot. I meant the century we just came out of. I guess I still forget that we're in a new one. The last 100 years.
