I tried googling but got nowhere.

All I know is that it was sung by a black woman and in the lyrics it's got a bit that goes

Almas, pure and simple, born in a world where ....something, something

da, da, da .........almas, you lucky, lucky girl

Sorry, totally cr4p but that's the best I've got:wah:

No, it was quite a slow soulful song. Perhaps it wasn't out in the US.

Me too, did you see in the papers that she had already had a contract with a record company years ago.

I started singing the song as soon as I saw your post, Jim's not happy, I am the worst singer and that song just hilights how truly bad I am :D

Randy Crawford sang 'Almaz' and it reached No.4 in the UK in November 1986, and was in the charts for 17 weeks. But I preferred her 'One day I'll fly away' which I thought was a super song. That one was her first 'Hit' in the UK at the end of August 1980. It reached No.2 and was in the charts for 11 weeks.

Hope that is of interest to you Immy !!!!!!
