I had to have a stray cat quarintined today, he bite me on sat. The good news so far is that the cat will be kept in quarintine for 14 days. The bad news is if no one claims him after 30 days, he will have to be put to sleep. So, I told the animal control officer that if they can not find a home for him I will adopt him. It's really not the cats fault that he had bad people. Right?:-2

Hey. He bit you. He's obviously in need of rehabilitation. Let's just hope the system doesn't corrupt him.;)

They are only going to hold him 14 days to make sure he does not have rabbies. Then I can adopt him.

We have taken stray/wild kitties in before Tazz and you would have NO clue that they were scared of us for the first month or more if you saw them now...I hope he will be okay.....I'd do the same thing you did...you do have to be careful...but after the quarentine time is over...I'd say take him in and give him some love, of course a LOT of space at first....

He does seem to like me and my daughter. He seems to be afraid of men. I think someone might have scared him. I found out that he likes cheese .:wah:

Aww - gooo, gooo, gooo:-6 I'll tell you something, I too adopted a stray cat - a long haired tortoiseshell and when I brought her home fur flew with my other cat defending it's territory, but they had to fight it out. They settled down after a couple of days and she went on to give me the most devoted fourteen years of her life. She used to lie on her back and I used to cradle her like a baby, singing her lullabies, to which she'd happily youl away. The most remarkable thing was I never even opened a tin of cat food for her. My wife fed her, groomed her, looked after her 100% and yet the second I came home, there was only one person she'd head for, kneading me with her sharp claws. I'd never known a cat like it. If she gives you just half the amount of affection as my cat gave me, you'll be truly blessed:)

Sounds like one lucky kitty. If he'd bitten me, the vet would be checking for rabies via autopsy. I love animals, but I don't have patience for ferals.

I agree cats that were once feral and turned into pets are a blessing. I have a black cat "Lovey' that someone dropped off around my house.she lived around here for over a year and a half, before she came to us .by that time she was pregnate. she is fixed now. and I have one of her daughters. also fixed.

she is the best hunter. every day she leaves me dead things outside the doors.

loves her freedom to go in and out as she pleases. and more or less runs the place. the 60 lb dog is scared of her. and she takes no crap from the other cats But to us she very loving, she melts like butter in our hands.:-4

Thier kids our probably the ones that stay at friends houses all day every day.

So they don't have to feed or entertain them.
