He was thinking of another rush-hour bridge collapse four decades ago.
Does anyone else want to smack this guy for saying such a stupid, near-cavalier thing? I mean, gee- ya think?
This is the whole article on proposed bridge inspection. I don't understand why people seem to think something made of concrete and steel is supposed to be indestructible and carry 141,000 vehicles a day without suffering some sort of eventual fatigue. Bridge inspection ought to be a given.
