I want one of those little terriers like the one in the Wizard of Oz...
The last dog I loved with my whole heart was a sheltie named Odie. I had to give him to my girlfriend Susan about 8 years ago, when we moved from the country to the city. It broke my heart to give him away. My selfish, sicko, impotent mate at the time... would punish me, by not walking the dog, while I was at work. For every hot steaming load he made me clean up, he made me loathe him more. I wish I had kept Odie, and gotten rid of him, but alas, I didnt. Well anyway, I have decided that I would like to shower all of my affection on a peppy, loyal, adorable ball of fur. Who will love me, simply for feeding him, taking care of him, and loving him. Anyone know the name of this breed and maybe of a rescue organization for these dogs?

Weeder, is this the dog? This is a Westie. A West Highland Terrier.
I'm sure if you did a search for "westie rescue" you'd probably find one or more close by you.

I believe that just about any kind of terrier fits that description, Weeder. I can speak from experience by mentioning that the Jack Russell Terriers are a bit more peppy than most other terriers, however. :wah:
The Cairn Terrier is definitely a Toto dog.

Scotties are revolting little breeders so don't get one pregnant if they don't die in the process you'll be up for a fortune in vet bills with casears. Oh and they tend to role onto their young and squash them more often than other dogs.
I think Mia is on the ball as far as the wizard of Oz dog bit.
"Toto" was a Cairn Terrier. Westies are the best...ies;)
Westies are derived from Carins and Scotties,(They were Bread to be all white.) I have a seven month Westie puppie that I acquired back in February (my Baby of 16 1/2 crossed over the "Rainbow Bridge" last October) They are Funny, fun loving, and a "Pal" forever. They are very social.......they think they know "the joke" they crack me up. If you go to "YouTube" and type Westie and West Highland Terrier you can watch videos.

I think its the Westie... I saw one at a customers house yesterday. Im going back this morning. Ill make sure.
I am familiar with Jack Russells.. I knew a girl that raised them. Too hyper for me. This dog I was with was very calm.
Thanks Kids!!

This sounds like the dog I petted yesterday. When I walked up the walkway, I was immediately drawn to it. Calm, but very very friendly. Seemed like a wise dog. And it was white.

I should imagine thats why there are not many breeders of Scottish terriers in Scotland then. Thanks for that piece of info Magenta.
My 'pupster' went over the rainbow bridge 18 months ago aged 14, i have considered another lil furry friend & Scotties were one of the breeds i considered, i would not be breeding tho, just as a pet.
