A Los Angeles man accused of pushing his 4-year-old daughter from an ocean cliff to avoid child support payments pleaded innocent on Monday to murder charges that could carry the death penalty.

Cameron John Brown, 42, faces charges of murder and special allegations of lying in wait and murder for financial gain nearly four years after his daughter, Lauren Key, was found dead at the foot of a cliff along the Pacific Ocean.

Brown told police that he and Lauren were separated during a Nov. 8, 2000 hike along a popular trail that runs along the Palos Verdes cliffs, about 25 miles south of Los Angeles. He said he later found the child floating in the water at the foot of Inspiration Point, a cliff that drops 120 feet to the Pacific Ocean, prosecutor Craig Hum said.

Mark's Father (Paul?) Geragos is the attorney of record but he had a stroke or something last week and Marky baby is taking the reigns... which IMO means conviction for this SOB ;)

You know all the stories you hear about prisoners attitudes towards people who do sick things to kids? Let's hope they're true. LadyCop?

well if the guy gets death he will never be in general population, nobody would be able to get to him. in our county jail, and most others, inmates are put in blocks with those who have committed similar crimes. in a prison setting there is a lot more autonomy, and baby- rapers/baby-killers are definately considered lower life forms. many of them know this and opt for protective custody.

Pretty sad state when they get protected even in prison. Before anyone jumps on the "everyone has rights" bandwagon, it is my belief that once a person does something like this, they forfeit their rights to EVERYTHING. I hope this piece of excrement suffers a long, slow, excruciating death.
