Hello Everybody ~ I thought I'd better introduce myself.
I'm very new here and have no idea what I'm doing, but as I'm trying to write I thought this was a good place to start.
My name is Shirleyann (I borrowed 'Jessyblue' from my Springer Spaniel)I live in out in the country and I love it but don't see many people ~ that's why I'm here!
I'm looking forward to joining in and finding friends. My dogs are good listeners but don't answer much
Jessyblue:)

Hi Jessyblue, you'll find lots of people here to keep you amused. What amuses you? We have politics, where to buy clothes, more politics, a forum radio show to phone in on, we have conspiracy nutters who can tell you to the nearest year when civilization will collapse, or we have politics. Take your pick, join in.

Hi Spot ~
Loads of things 'amuse' me so I'll have a good dig around on here. Tend to avoid politics as I get rather heated about it and end up stomping off and slamming the bedroom door:-5 There's loads on here that's for sure ~ don't know where to go first:-3
Thanks Spot ~ Jessyblue

Hi Jimbo ~ love your little cartoon ~ very apt!! Almost like reading my husband's mind:sneaky:
As for being 'stalked' well I guess that beats being ingored!! Feels like I'm invisible sometimes.
I'm going to enjoy it here I think :yh_rotfl

Hi Redglitter ~
I love my Springer but she is totally nuts! On the lead she's the hound from hell ~ indoors she's angelic. She like a piece of velcro ~ picks up everything from the hedgerows and comes back plastered.
I fully agree about Jerry Springer ~ He's on everyday over here so I guess some people like it. Not a lot of dialogue and what's with the silly song? He did an English version ~ that didn't last long. I've never understood why people want to air all that.
Nice to meet you Redglitter ~ Jessyblue

Hi Jessy welcome to the garden.I have not been here that long myself,it is a great group, and you are guaranteed a smile. I am in a large City. One of my sons used to live near Yeovill,it is a lovely part of the Country.
My dog does not have a lot to say to me either.Just imagine how much they would nag us if they could talk.
Have fun.

I guess he got me Jimbo ~ words fascinate me although I have to admit I can't even pronounce that one:-2 so I won't be using it anytime soon
For the most part I'm fine with my own company but I do like to chatter and I'll talk about almost anything ~ well ~ not almost ~ anything. Being here has cheered me up no end this morning.
Got to get off this thing and get on with my day I suppose ~ boring thought:yh_sleep
Thanks for making me feel so welcome ~ See you soon ~ Jessyblue

I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it on here.

Thanks for the welcome everybody. Didn't get back here yesterday ~ painting the kitchen:-1
KB, in answer to your question ~ I started out with poetry; used it as therapy really and it works ~ not a good idea to read it years later though ~ some of it's dire!!!! Now I like to write fun stuff for kids ~ trouble is getting my ideas in some sort of order on the page:-3 I'm lucky and have some of the poetry published.
Imladris, it's nice to meet someone from down here ~ I wonder if your accent is as thick as mine ~ I take a lot stick over it:wah:
Thanks again folks ~ you made my day:guitarist

In what shape would you make a device capable of destroying the Earth, and where would you keep it?

Well Nomad ~ If I created a device capable of destroying the earth it would be entirely accidental; therefore irrelevant what shape it was or where I 'kept' it!
I have a feeling that destruction of the earth, other than natural, will be accidental ~won't it?
You are interesting ~ nice to meet you Nomad:-6

I made one once. I just saw her off on a train to Liverpool strangely enough. She'll go from there to Edinburgh, then London, it'll be three weeks before she's back so I'm all set for a quiet time without volcanic questions from below. The one I got as she stood on the platform was "what do you know about Arabic folk tales, daddy?", lord knows how she got that way.

Goodness only knows - about twenty at a guess. She might have turned 21 a few months ago. She just finished the second year of her four-year course, she took a gap year, 21 sounds about right. She carries all the hallmarks of turning into another horseman of the apocalypse like her sister, Pestilence.

Hi Neffy, we seem to have something in common ~ Wiltshire and supermarkets! I don't work now but spent a lot of years in them.
I have a small poetry book published and some kids stuff in various compilations. I'm trying to write a kids book now ~ never grew up really and don't want to either.
Used to have German Shepherds and went to a few shows over the years. I love the big breeds ~ although now we have a Black Collie and a nutty Springer Spaniel ~ both rescued.

I must admit to a slight feeling of trepidation when you mentioned the four year course.
Even so, I am feeling even more trepidatious since you mentioned London and Liverpool in the one sentence.

Chookie;654084 wrote: IIs that actually legal? As she described it the answer is probably a technical "no", but she swore she was sticking to the letter of the booking sites she used. She claims her total cost, including booking fees, is £45 for the round trip, and includes a couple of days each in Rotherham, Sheffield and some poncey town in Wiltshire on the way back. One leg's a coach, she said, the rest is some variant of Sir Richard's vast and spreading empire. As, on reflection, the coach is likely to be too by now.
