I thought that was a good ad, Magenta. A lot more realistic than some others I've seen.

Wow!
Brilliant ad, shows the range of emotions that go with the job, one minute you're posing for a photo with tourists the next you're getting thumped by some nutter who's climbing on a fire engine at the head of a carnival procession (yes - that happened to me!!)

Wow, very moving, I'm and emotional cow right now...so of course that explains the tears the minute I saw the little girl crying and scared....awwww....
It is very well done, shows their dedication to their job and the community...I know I couldn't do it, and thankful for those who do, day in and day out....:-4

I went to Carnival when I was over there last year. Seriously not my cuppa tea but it was sweet of the guy to take me. I found the Bobbys there to be really nice when it came to taking photos. which I didn't expect because everyone was on alert at the time.
I was a Special Constable for 15 years (volunteer copper)

Well the firemen were kind of sexy and had big hoses

nah I'm not jealous was a firey myself with the CFA (country fire authority ) and a voluteer with the SES.(State Emergency Services) turned me right off fireys.
As a SC you have the same powers as regular PC's, the only thing I couldn't do was issue endorsable fixed penalty tickets (for traffic offenses which give points on your driving licence - 12 points and you lose the licence) and I couldn't drive with sirens and lights although they were introducing training for that to Specials when I left.
