KB's comments on how he needs people to see his stories got me thinking. Also Lon's thread on being a forum member.

I am an unabashed attention whore. The attention is not what I crave though; it is just a by product of what I do have an unquenchable thirst for, and that is to tell stories. I can sit here and write all day long, but if no one sees it but me it is like that old tree falling in the woods with no one around to hear it.

I don't think so. Maybe some but I wouldn't know who they'd be. You probably weren't directing this at anyone specifically, but just the same I don't think KB is wanting attention as much as input. Feedback. He's a writer. That's part of their fuel. It's one thing to write for your own good but it's highly gratifying when someone comes along and appreciates it.

Forums do have the attention seekers and FG did too but I think they're gone now.

I think it's important to make a clear line of definition between attention and acknowledgement. They're not necessarily the same.

I think the forum is just abit of fun A modern way of having fun, if I were to be out say a pub or anywhere I'm sure I would end up talking to some one I didn't know or did know.

A forum to me is just a good way to meet and chat without going out if I didn't fancy going out.

Sure I'd be disappointed, Lon. I like to be acknowledged as much as the next person but I don't necessarily crave *attention.* When I think of wanting attention, I think of little kids and sob sisters and a certain someone who used to come here to cause problems. I think of it in a negative light. But to be acknowledged, yeah, absolutely!! :-6

Who needs a room, the hallway works just fine and its free? I am also an unabashed flirt, and she is far too smart to wander around my way. I got too many women on my mind as it is. Almostdidntgo (I am laughing out loud as I call her that), is an old friend. I'd just assume keep it that way. Innuendo works just fine.
