Have you ever looked at anyone's art work, poem, story ect here & complimented them (said its good) out of politeness rather than being genuine? :sneaky:

Well, if it were something that really warranted the truth, like "is my husband cheating on me?" for sure I would be honest. But to tell someone their haircut looks bad or to quelch their dream...no. It's just not right. (to me)

I hope not, I find it a damn shame some of my stories don't get more feedback as it is. I would love if someone told me they really didn't like what I had written. Especially if they meant it. I wouldn't change anything, but t least I would know. People think that folks who share their stories and poems or what ever; don't want feed back, if we didn't we wouldn't share the damn things. I post my stories on usually 5-6 forums, and pray I get at least one response from each place. I don't do this **** just for the hell of it. Most times the things i write about are fiction derived from some of the most trying times in my life. Sometimes it is fresh, and others it is from years past. I understand that folks don't always come to a place looking to read 5 thousand words excerpts from a novel in progress, and would rather talk about pensions, job hunting, penis size, and three eyed gold fish (I was not in any way singling out any one, or their posts), but in a forum called POETRY and WRITING I expect there to be such things found there, and if you make an effort to stop by, then by all means if you feel like making a comment then do so.

Absolutely not, one side is against the wall; therefore there is only one side to get out of. Well I usually stand up and walk off the foot of the bed but that is because there is a desk on the side not against the wall. You asked; dared us rather to be honest. I was. Most writers, damn me for almost using a stereotype, hunger for feedback. they don't want you to change or correct; if they do they will ask for it specifically (thanks Almostwent and Chonsi), but the do want to know what you think. it doesn't have to be much. I look at some of the things Horatio said to me, and thank the muses above that he did so. I get my PMs which are nice and personal, but you have to water a seed to make it grow. When those comments are made in public it fosters the growth of more comments. Watch how the views on a subject grow as more and more replies are made. I spend as much time copy/pasting my stores as i do writing them sometimes, and then constantly click over to my email to see if anyone has said anything. I thank everyone who has taken the time to write a comment, small or epic, genuine or generic. Time is valuable; and when someone cashes some of it in to stop by and give some feedback I understand just how valuable it is. I am as guilty as anyone, I do not always give feedback myself so take all of this with a boulder sized grain of salt.

I am like Pinky on this one, I am honest about commenting...if I don't compliment or comment, because ummm I didn't read it, or it didn't interest me, but I believe in the old saying "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all"...

For those who know me I usually give compliments, but I am sincere and I really mean when I give praise...

Example: Jimbo's head is nice and shiney!!:p :D
