On the eve of the commencement of the Battle of Hastings in 1066, William the Conqueror is inspecting his men.
"Who are you?" He asks one of them. The soldier steps smartly forward.
"Anton Pinet at your service, Sir. Master lancer." He then faces the target, puts on a blindfold and hurls the lance 150 yards straight into it's target.
"Excellent - England has much to fear from you!" He carries on to the next man.
"What about you, what can you do?" Up steps Andre Mertonne. He proudly hurls an axe 150 yards that lands on a matchstick.
"Excellent - excellent! England has much to fear from you!" Finally he approaches a third man.
"And pray tell me, what can you do?"
"Pierre Colbolt at your service, Sir! Master archer. See that target three hundred yards away - watch this!" Firing the arrow, it misses it's target by a mile, and ricochades off the castle wall missing somebody's head by inches." Speechless with rage, he storms over to his commanding officer.
"That man's a menace - the fool's going to take somebody's eye out one day..."
