Hi all

I was just wondering, with the whole "size 0" thing and more and more people seem to want to accomplish this - what do guys (and girls) actually prefer - a stick thing skinny girl or a more curvy shape? What is more attractive?

Sorry if a thread like this has already been done. :-6

Curvy voluptuous women. The kind that won't leave hipbone dents in their men.

Curvy is good but sadly I have a slender frame & a fast metabolism so I'm constantly eating so I don't end up looking like someone who is starving themselves hard work I'll tell ya :(

It depends on whether skinny means a bag of bones, and whether curvy means fat.

why can't we just say that everyone is beautiful in their own way. :-6

I'm thin and I've always been thin and that doesn't make me any less of a women.

too true but its sad that despite nearly every man here saying that they prefer curvy women, there are those women who think they need to slim right down to feel and be attractive

The first person that came to mind was this beautiful woman that supposedly was a size 16, I just spent about 5 minutes looking for a picture that she looked like a size 16 and couldn't find it!!

To answer the question...I think curves are beautiful...but as said many times before beauty is within:-4

that probably was a size 16 at that time but they have been changing women's clothing sizes over the years.

Pretty much what Bill said. I like them all though. Tall and skinny or short and fun sized. I already shared my views on this in the "do looks matter" thread. If the woman is a little more "curvy" thats fine. Things, even attractions change. Same goes for skinny as long as she doesn't look like Kate Moss.

it's interseting to read about the shrinking of sizes over the years!

I grabbed this quote:

In the 1940s, the smallest available size was a 10. By the 1950s, the smallest size was an 8 and today, there's size 00 on the racks, Ainsworth said.

I can never get over the size thing.America is different to England.I think our size ten is your size twelve. Also here different makes of clothes do not come in a standard size.I can go in one shop and buy jeans in a size ten, in another shop a size eight fits and so on.It is so confusing I do not know what size I am anymore.Years ago all clothes were the same size in any shop you went into,I don't know why it has all changed.

I have gone off topic.I think the very thin size zero makes girls look ill. There is too much attention to womens figures through the media, and young girls are under pressure.A classic was Fergie The Dutchess of York. That woman was taunted because she had a fuller figure. Then we have Victoria Beckham who is taunted for being skinny.People just can't win can they.

Healthy.

Doesn't matter if you're not healthy to go with it.

I'd like to be slimmer but like most men hubby prefers the Kate Winslet look to the Kate Moss (that could also have something to do with KM being a druggie!)

I like my women to be able to keep me warm if the gas bill doesn't get paid. So it is either one curvy woman, or two skinny ones. Either way works, equal fun.

That's me, I hate it where I have put weight on (obviously not enough to do something about it:rolleyes: ), when I was slim I would hardly ever get guys chat me up, when I was single I had far more guys approach me while being heavier  :wah:

Like Immy said, healthy,

physically and mentally :)

Marilyn came to my mind immediately too WW3.

Think Betty Grable, VS say Kira Knightley which looks better.

A sandwich made of the two of them does. Both look great, in different ways. Kira looks in shape, just not much of one. I like Betty's face better for sure; I'm not a fan of sharp angles in that area.

Apparently, regarding men's preferences, 5% of men prefer thin thighs, 5% prefer fat thighs, and 90% prefer something in between.

I like all shapes and sizes... that skinny pic of Penelope Cruz up there, Betty Grable... Betty Page... I do prefer a woman that is healthy, but... shape doesn't necessarily mean healthy... I know plenty of people that have a nice looking shape, yet aren't fit.
