get afraid that if you posted something you wrote it may be "stolen"? Or is that just paranoia?

Once posted on the web it is copyrighted; I'll provide a link below. It doesn't bother me to be honest. I get a lot of inspiration from songs, quotes, movies, etc. I use lyrics sometimes to move a scene along, or to set a scene. If someone "steals" something I write, it must have been worth stealing, you know?

Yeah, I know about all that "being copied is the true form of flattery." But, as writers, we pour our hearts and souls and guts into our pieces sometimes and it would **** me off to no end to put something online and find it in someone else's book or something like that. That may not even be realistic, though. Anyway, I really admire you, and others, who have such incredibly openness with your talent and aren't afraid to put it all out there.

By the way, thanks for the link.

Not a problem, KB. I say it how I see it. :)

I'd submitted some bicycle haiku to a cycling forum some years ago, and consequently found some of it on a printed flyer advertizing a bike-related event. It wasn't attributed directly to anyone else, but it wasn't attributed to me either. Ah well. Flattering in a way.

That's the kind of thing I mean, I Rob. I'm incredibly protective of my work. It's like a child to me, and maybe that's too protective, but that's how I am.

If someone did like I do with songs and quotes I wouldn't have one problem with it; now if someone outright stole something and pretended it was theirs I would be ready to bloody my knuckles.
