Dog racing I have to presume...

Funny thing is, is that I think there actually is a such thing as beginners luck...

Next thing you know you'll be scraping tickets up off of the ground in aspiration that some drunken idiot dropped a winning ticket...But the only thing you need to watch out for is if in fact that drunken idiot isn't yourself...

I actually hit a superfecta that paid out about $4,000, only to have them call it back for inquiry...On horses though...

I am glad I am not the only one who loves that word, the sound of it is awesome. Congratulations on the winner, in St. Louis we had take off Tuesdays, at the horse track; dollar hot dogs, dollar beer.

Hey....

What kind of answer is that?

Susie's not anywhere near being daft.

That was a valid question in today's world. In over 1000 people here of all persuasions, it's not daft to think there could be a few scumbags who bet on fighting dogs or cockfighting or whatever other evil thing you might have. Maybe she doesn't know El Guapo is Jesse or maybe she doesn't know Jesse himself.

So I'll answer her since no one else wants to.

No, Susie, Jesse wouldn't have anything to do with dogfighting. He loves dogs. He bet on the dog races.

Both these things have been illegal in the UK for a long, long time. No-one is going to risk opprobrium by publically anouncing their involvement it these activities. Dog racing, in contrast, is very well-known and quite legitimate. I do not know why anyone should start by assuming the very worst in someone.

Maybe it was just due to the way it "sounded" on here. I don't personally know and can't speak for Susie. I just know she is not daft and Jesse wouldn't fight dogs. So now that we have all that straightened out...how about we just call it one of those things and get back to the scheduled programming! :-6

Just for the record, I was thinking the same thing as Angel Eyes...of course Red Glitter made good points that I forgot...that Jesse does love dogs...but I first thought of dog fights, only because of a recent article I read I guess....anyway....Congrats Jesse...

Dog racing is fun. However having worked at dog rescues in the Uk and seen many abandoned dogs. I have seen to many greyhounds who have been dumoed when they are too old too race anymore. To some, it is purely a money making sport with no feeling towards the dogs at the end of the day:mad:

From Jan 10th.:

'Pit bulls' seized in Merseyside raids

[snip]

The RSPCA estimates there may be around 100 people involved in organised dog fighting in Britain, 170 years after it was banned.

[snip]

From:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jh ... ull110.xml

The RSPCA are not the most conservative with theire estimates of various wrongness. With a bit of luck they, in partnership with the police, will reduce this sort of activity even further as one of their useful activities.

When the track is muddy, try betting on 4-5. Pays real well if it comes in. Made alot of money on that combo. Have to be a bit heavier dogs , if they are light noway.
