Here are some creative writing prompts to use for your writing practice. If you'd like, pick one and write your response here, or do so privately. Up to you. These are great, too, for helping with that nasty writer's block! I'll add some more later if you like these.
#1: Open a magazine & find 3-5 pictures of people. Write a 300-500 word profile about each individual.
#2: If you could invent something to help mankind, what would it be?
#3: Choose a poem you like. Take the last line and use that as the first line of your own poem.
#4: In 400 words, create your ideal place.
#5: Write about what you'd say to an uninvited guest. (Get creative with this one. Is the stranger a good thing or bad? Is there anything you can learn from this stranger?)
#6: Write about the color of hunger.
#7: Write a letter to the 10 year old child you were.
#8: Imagine your life is now a book. In 100 words, write the blurb for it. The blurb is what people will read on the back cover.
#9: Invent a sensational or controversial issue & write a news story about it. (This one could be lots of fun!)
#10: What's your idea of a perfect vacation or getaway?
#11: Write about a time you hid from someone, or a time you disguised who you really were, literally or not.
Happy writing!!

Aww, jimbo, sorry!! Not at all, just something to get the creative juices flowing! And nothing crude from you, mr. man!! I can just imagine what you'd say to that!!
I'm one of those damned writers, and sometimes a prompt is what I need to get going. *sigh*

He was one I had in mind. Also wondering how many writers we've got out in FG land.

They're kind of fun to do, even if you don't usually write. But maybe my version of fun is really messed up! :-3 :wah:

Hey Laneybug, these are cool!
I'm going to be doing some. Can we post our efforts here?
I'd do one now but I've taken way too much Vicodin today and I'm just about wiped. But I see a bunch I want to try! Thanks for putting these up!!

Definitely post efforts here. After dinner I'm gonna try my hand at one and post it. I'd love to see your response to any one of those.

Think I'll do those two.

#8: Imagine your life is now a book. In 100 words, write the blurb for it. The blurb is what people will read on the back cover.
"Ordinary people sometimes live extraordinary lives. All you have to do is stop and listen for a bit. Did you know they make pizzas at the center of the universe? Muses sometimes have a chipped tooth; Sirens sometimes let their captives go free, and Ambrosia tastes like a White Russian made with raspberry Stoli. People don’t always get to tell the stories they want; sometimes people tell more than they should, but everyone has at least one story to tell. Open up and see if you recognize a friend, see if there is a story about you."

This is going to be fun. Let me see at ten years old I was in the fifth grade, I was living in one of the smallest towns you can imagine; Atwood, TN. They still do not have a stop light. I spent a lot of time with my Dad’s Uncle and Ant, I call him my granddaddy now, the first story I wrote for public view was about the day he died, and she called me **** ant till I was sixteen. I miss those days. Playing in their garden, sneaking his cigarettes and sour mash whiskey; sitting on the front porch watching the trains roll by. Listening to him tell stories about his days working during the Great Depression. I was a lot more innocent, in some ways, back then. I’d like to say weren’t we all, but sadly we probably were not.
I think I am going to enjoy this, twenty years later is a good time frame to look back. this might be real mfing (love that word, sorry) long. Maybe later tonite.
