I have sinned, for I have eaten chips with salt on. Delicious dietary sin. Chips are not edible without salt, not to the same degree, anyway. Oh. my dear! But my blood pressure!

Mmmmm. I did not even *think* of using my salt-free home-made bread for that. I am sure that you have magnified my future sinning. Argh!

Ohhh the joys of a chip butty.
Forget all your beefburgers and hot dogs. Forget your truffles and cream. Forget your death by chocolate. *Nothing* comes close to a propperly made chip butty

I have no doubt it's a slab of gustatorial nirvana, and I cannot wait to sample this for myself...but what the Hell is it?

A butty is a sandwich so, two slices of white bread, buttered (because there's not enough fat in the chips), piled with two layers of chips (crossways so they dont fall out), liberally sprinkled with salt (to improve the blood preasure) and optionally, a dash of ketchup although I prefer Lea and Perrins.

To be a party pooper, you shouldn't consider it a "sin" unless you've got something terrible like gout. My doctor told me that that kind of attitude towards dieting is unhealthy...to the maintenance of the diet, at least. A little deviance is fine. :p

Interesting thread to resurrect. G'day Ethancinderella and welcome to FG where sins are many and varied, and punishments of all kinds can be provided, depending only on your wallet.

French fries are not chips.Proper British chips are made from the right sort of potato eg.. Maris Pipers.Cut thick and chunky.Deep fry in Beef dripping.Serve with plenty of salt, and thick chunks of bread and butter.Who cares about healthy eating, beats a lettuce leaf any day.Ok so we might pop our clogs a bit sooner than we should, but at least we have enjoyed ourselves on the way.
