No folks it's not Victor complaining it's me again :D

I am off to the Hospital at lunchtime, where I have been coughing so much from this chest infection, I felt a 'pop' in my stomach yesterday, I felt really uncomfortable all yesterday, then last night I felt a lump bulging from my tum, it looks as though the pressure from coughing has made my hernia pop out again.

It was only repaired 24th May last year, apparently it can not be just pushed back in, as it means that it has split the mesh which was holding the muscle in place.

So looks as though it means yet another surgery.:-5

One day I'm going to come here and tell you all how healthy I am, you'll probably all keel over from the shock!!!! :wah:

The muscle opens and part of your guts come out :wah:

The last one that they repaired last year, was due to the hosp mess up, they forgot to sew my tummy muscle back together, so my left side was left by my hip, which meant my bowel had come through the gap, I looked 5 months pregnant at the left side of my tum :-3

They said it was the largest repair they'd done, they put mesh over to reinforce it, but where I have been coughing (could give Dot Cotton a run for her money), it has popped back out, splitting the muscle and mesh :-5

Nah........... You poor thing :( I hope you're not in too much pain. What will they do during this surgery? Fix it ? take it out ?

It would be another repair, pop the guts back in and mesh over again:-5

I love hospital food, I'm the only person I know that can be sick and gain weight while in hospital

I was supposed to take it easy for a few weeks, as i had to have a cut like a cesarean, that was because my hernia was so large, but I was up, doing things quite quickly, mainly due to the fact I am unable to lay for too long as it sets my back off.

The worry is if you do over do things, it will pop out again. Tell him not to worry though, he'll be fine :-6 Especially with Nurse Ybird to wait on him :sneaky: :wah:

Thanks guys for your warm wishes :-4

I saw the Dr and their is nothing she or the hospital can do short term, apparently it is impossible to push it back in through the mesh, so I have a scan booked for 21st June (the day Chantelle arrives:-5 ) as I can not be fitted in quicker, unless I go to A&E (I don't think so) where I may be kept in, for pain relief:rolleyes:

While there I said I thought my head was going to explode, so she took my blood pressure which was 160/90, I need to do breathing exercises and learn to calm down...............

I have been on antibiotics since Wed's for the chest infection, and I haven't been coughing half as much today, so I think they are doing the trick.

I think I will have a long wait for them to sort my stomach, got scan on 21st, then have to wait for referral for surgeon then roughly a 6 month wait for op, if I'm lucky

That is a long time to wait be careful no heavy lifting. ;) Jimbo should be at your side 24/7 providing you with anything you need at a moments notice. :wah: Well at least you got something for your cough.

Poor Suzie,

You have my deepest sympathy my brother in law was born with that condition and had to have almost continuous operations.

Had a thought that maybe a course of steroids would be the thing for you.

I know doctors are wary of them but they had to give me three separate courses the four months I was ill - coughing was so painful, and nothing came up to show me what was causing it.

God Bless and I hope you get better soon.
