Apart from Lon and Carla, you're all babies - I was already working before most of you were born! For the record July, 1948 - Slough, Berkshire, UK although it was Bucks when I was there - they moved the boundaries. My father had high aspirations for me - he put up a blue plaque on the wall with the words: "Watch this space":wah:
I think somebody should set up a site for old uns. Nobody under fifty, then we'd all be on the same wavelength - I mean it. there are so many thinks I'd dearly love to reminisce on, but most of you wouldn't have a clue about what we were talking about. Does such a site exist??

I was brought into existence in paradise- better known as Dundonnell, on the shores of Little Loch Broom.
And yes, it's in Scotland.

Now, you're afraid to visit some parts of the city, but when I lived there it was the best place on earth to live. It was a close- knit family community with all the neighbors taking care of all the kids, horseback riding on near-by fields, ice skating, roller skating, theaters, 10 minutes from Manhattan....I could go on and on about our unique city.
Unique??? Bout as unique as Newark. Ugh!!

Kathy Ellen;627535 wrote: Lon, just read your post....not true Jersey City and Newark were beautiful cities as I was growing up. My family lived on Lake Street in Newark, and every year we'd visit them in the sping just to see the Cherry blossoms. These were the best years of my childhood. Things got really, really bad in both cities, but my fond memories are there.
You shouldn't have left. If anybody could have kept the citizenry in high spirits it would be you. :-6
