I think it depends on the group of men...I've known men to be gossipy, but always told that Women talk about sex more than men do....which of course I deny.....:sneaky:

When men have their night out........they do spend some time talking about the women in their lives................you're an ass if you don't know it.

my friends boyfriend is the biggest gossip i know and boy can he bitch, more than us girls?! I think men do gossip, they just don't do it so overtly as women do but no doubt they discuss the women in their lives, i remember when i first got together with my boyfriend he told me how him and his friends were having a house party once and they had got onto the topic of girlfriends and had rated us all

I think sometimes they do more, there was something about it on TV the other day.

I guess it depends on how you characterize gossip. To me, the word gossip carries a malicious feeling. Just sitting around talking about events, telling a story of your vacation or relating something that happened at work are not gossip, they are ways of communicating and sharing our lives with other people.

One person might prefer to go on a two hour adventure describing a book they are reading and how they reacted to it whilst another would rather discuss a confrontation they had with someone else to gain perspective.

A comparison might be:

Conversation: I'm having trouble with my boss. If I tell you what happened, can you tell me what you think I should do?

Gossip: Without relating events, making a statement about someone that you had a fight with then cracking jokes about what their psychological problems might be. No attempt at understanding.

I think women tend to converse more (the stats on words used in a day support this) but both gossip in about the same proportion.

I never gossip as you know, so you have to PM me if you want any really juicy stuff (just kidding, I may take a while to respond to PMs at the mo), but seriously, men gossip?

Of course men gossip, usually with women, but sometimes with men as well.
