Surely it's only bloody cheek if it's equating England with the UK, in which case I absolutely agree. Isn't it saying "UK (England)" rather than "UK (Wales)" or "UK (Scotland)" or "UK (Northern Ireland)"?

I would say it is equating the two. But maybe you're right.

It did not read as I have seen before. I wonder who made the UK (England) mess up - how to upset millions of people!!

I'd like to think that it wasn't ignorance... however, naming seems rather variable:

Dublin -> Edinburgh:

- "Entering United Kingdom (Northern Ireland) [...] Entering Scotland"

Edinburgh - Dublin:

- "Entering England [ ... ] Entering Northern Ireland [...] Entering Ireland"

Carlisle -> Edinburgh:

- "Entering Scotland"

Edinburgh -> Carlisle

- "Entering England"

Bergen -> Edinburgh:

- "Entering United Kingdom (Scotland)"

I *think* that if you're already starting from somewhere in the UK, it just says the country name, else it says "UK (country name)".

EDIT which seems quite correct.

It does not look like a "mess up", in fact.

On looking further I suspect you're probably right. I wasn't that bothered by it, it amused rather than irritated.

But its nice for people to recognise our pride and joy. Proud to be Scottish, proud to be Welsh, proud to be English. Proud to be part of the UK too. :-4 :-4
