I used to be a car junkie, and I had so many different brands & or models that I never had a particular brand to be loyal to. I never kept a car for more than 6 months to a year! Some I only kept for 3 to 4 weeks. Time was so short that I really never had the chance to hate any of them!

I owned: Fords, Chevys, Buicks, Chryslers, Cadillacs, Vettes, Olds, Corvairs, Studerbakers, Plymouths, Mercurys, Pontiacs, Dodges, Lincolns, Jag-XKE, VW's Renaults,Volvos, Toyotas, Lexus :) ;)

I don't like ford at all & this made me crack up laughing so hard.

LOL !

Henry Ford was a particularily nasty anti-Semite. He gleefully published "The Protocols Of The Elders Of Zion" in the newspaper that he owned.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protocols_ ... rs_of_zion

Henry Ford also would place his African-American employees in the dirtiest, most dangerous parts of his factories

In the late '70s, when Ford Pinto gas tanks were blowing up after rear end collisions and incinerating their occupants, Ford did some number crunching and figured that it was cheaper to pay out settlements to victims and their survivors, instead of doing a massive recall and fixing their gas tanks.

I hate Fords.

A Ford joke :

(as if their cars weren't enough!)

It was a sweltering August day when the Cohen brothers entered the posh Dearborn, Michigan, offices of Henry Ford, the carmaker. "Mr. Ford," announced Norman Cohen, the eldest of the three. "We have a remarkable invention that will revolutionize the automobile industry."

Ford looked skeptical, but their threat to offer it to the competition kept his interest piqued. "We would like to demonstrate it to you in person."

After a little cajoling, they brought Mr. Ford outside and asked him to enter a black automobile parked in front of the building. Hyman Cohen, the middle brother, opened the door of the car. "Please step inside, Mr. Ford."

"What!" shouted the tycoon, "Are you crazy? It must be two hundred degrees in that car!"

"It is," smiled the youngest brother, Max, "but sit down Mr. Ford, and push the white button."

Intrigued, Ford pushed the button. All of a sudden a whoosh of freezing air started blowing from vents all around the car, and within seconds the automobile was not only comfortable, it was quite cool.

"This is amazing!" exclaimed Ford. "How much do you want for the patent?"

Norman spoke up, "The price is one million dollars." Then he paused.

"And there is something else. The name 'Cohen Brothers Air-conditioning must be stamped right next to the Ford logo!"

"Money is no problem," retorted Ford, "but no way will I have a Jewish name next to my logo on my cars!"

They haggled back and forth for a while and finally they settled. Five million dollars, but the Cohens' lastname would be left off. However, the first names of the Cohen brothers would be forever emblazoned upon the console of every Ford air conditioning system.

And that is why, even today, whenever you enter a Ford vehicle, you will see those three names clearly printed on the air conditioning control panel: Norm, Hi and Max.

It seems from comments here and people I know in RL thats Ford is really unpopular over here. In UK Ford is very popular (correct me if I'm wrong fellow Brits) - I'm just wondering why this is. I know nothing about cars - just scream very loud at Hubby if mine does not work. Is there a difference between US Ford and UK Ford?:-6 :-6

For starters, UK Fords have the steering wheel on the right side of the car. Here in US, the steering wheel is on the left side of the car. :wah:

Should not make any difference in reliability & or performance. Up untill just a few years ago FORD sales were touted as # 1 here in US. The past year, Ford held the # 2 spot, but has now been knocked out of the # 2 spot by Toyota, now making Ford # 3. GM is still #1.
