If he can do for Star Trek what he's done for Lost, I'm all the way in.

Well I grew up on TNG series and that has always been my favourite. I was really disappointed with the Enterprise series, the storylines were just so boring, despite the more up-to date technology. I say bring back Spock!!

Well hopefully he'll get to say more of his great lines in the new film, though somehow I doubt it, especially as the film is based back right at the beginning. And it's due for the end of next year so I think there might be a few changes before then I feel!

Can't be any worse that what that jackhole Michael Bay has seemingly done to Transformers.

Saw a short teaser about the new Trek at a showing of Cloverfield this last weekend. I'll be interested to see what J. J. Abrams does with it.

Could be meat, could be cake. I don't see Abrams going the campy retro route and I hope mightily there's no element of that. Being faithful to the original while maintaining respect for the built-in audience and going for a satisfyingly future-modern look is going to be quite a trick, but judging from his dramatic sensibilities (Lost, Cloverfield) Abrams should have the chops to pull it off.

My hubby and I grew up on TOS (Kirk and Spock)
My son who is a huge fan grew up in the slightly p-c TNG (Picard) era and my daughter grew up with the adventures of capt Janeway and 7of9.
Strangley none of us thought much of DS9 ( that was the one on the space station)
and only my son followed Enterprise.
There has never been another space series that was as good as Star Trek.
