Dimitri Tiomkin was a prolific composer of film scores, it's amazing how much of what he wrote is still so well known. He wrote the theme for Rawhide. I'm not confessing to having tried that one either.
Isaac Hayes' "Walk On By" would suit some moods.
Top choice? The 1812 Overture, by miles, though you both have to dress up first.
