In the course of our lives we all encouter people whe affect our lives in powerful ways. They encourage us, help us, teach us, perhaps alter our beliefs. They may be gone but are never forgotten. Lets tell each other about some of these people.

My list is endless.. There is My fifth grade teacher: Taught me to love reading... I never put a book down, after knowing her. A man who taught ballet in the cafateria of our school for 1.00$ a lesson. Changed my life! Put rhythum in this body. A plastic surgeon , here from Cuba in the 60s... came to the hospital and repaired my face when I was 16. ( after a terrible car accident) He came even though my parents didnt have the money up front to pay him. I owe him my face.

A wonderful wonderful woman I gardened for in Virginia.. shes gone now. She raised miniature horses. Taught me about gardening, birds, and most importantly

gave me a quiet comfort regarding spirituality and death. Most recently a couple in Georgia (never met me before I walked into their lives) Owner financed a business for me...... so I could have it..until the bank gave me the loan. My dear dear friend in New York.. when my children were small and I couldnt afford to go anywhere.... she pay for my trips...so I could join everyone.. and SLOWLY let me pay her back. I was able to go to The Bahamas, New Orleans, Naggs head.. and out to dinner in many great restaurants. My sons basketball coach and his wife

would take my children for the day, or a weekend.. So I could have some free time

and the boys got to be with a great dad for a while......God Bless you all... Im starting my day with a tear in my eye.. And a warm wonderful warmth in my heart

It feels great!!!!!!!!

some good influences.... some not so good.. You only keep the good thread.. it forms a beautiful picture.... and is the fabric that enables us to evolve and change every day.Keeps you warm, when you need it.

Great idea, weeder. :)

My dad would be at the top of my list. He gave me a strong, solid base - a knowledge of being loved. Without that, I don't think I would've made it through some of my more difficult challenges.

A rabbi I knew as a child had a very positive impact. He encouraged my endless questions, he respected them.

The man I date has taught me patience; well, as best as he could. LOL. He's encouraged my education and watched me go through a lot of dark times. By watching and not interfering, I learned that I can get through on my own.

You come up with some real gems, Weeder. :yh_hugs

My 11th grade history teacher, Mr Glinke was the coolest teacher. He would talk to his students like they were PEOPLE, not annoyances, or idiots, like so many other teachers I had. My grandfather, the most open, honest, smartest man I know. My mom, who taught me fierce independence. My son, who taught me to be a kid. My sister, showed me how to be tough even when it's REALLY hard to be. Now SHE has some amazing experiences! My fiance, who taught me what's important in life. And a perfect stranger whose name I don't know showed me years ago to get involved when you see a wrong being done, even if you don't know the person.

I would have to say my husband...i take very good care of him. I have patience of STEEL. Blessed to meet and keep! It all started in the 70's and i asked him today, remember the 70's he said they were good times. I can feel we are reaching mid-life and we need to keep ourselves healthy so we can enjoy life later? I am blessed. :-6

For me I am blessed to have met my husbands grandfather (papa). He was the most caring, funny, loving person, god rest his soul. He was always there for my husband and I when we were younger and stupid, he would give the shirt off his back. what i wouldnt give for him to be alive again. he was very sick for a year before he died but always managed to smile no matter what. I am a better person fo having known him, and boy do i miss him...
