At Flops suggestion I've started this to explore NValleyVee's question.

As she said, the question and my response were out of place in a thread about threads but I'm interested in why "your answer was incorrect"

I really like that answer, floppy.

He deserves the "blame" or at least the responsibilty for the failure to "win the peace". There was no serious study, or planning, of what to do when the shooting stopped, prior to the invasion. It took six weeks after Baghdad fell for the so-called reconstitution and rebuilding organizations to even get out of Kuwait. It is obvious the Bush administration knew nothing about the history, culture and religions of Iraq. It was ready, fire, aim....Other than that they have done a fine job.

That hasn't happened, on the grand scale -that the powerful and mighty assured the world that it would.

And if you are going to take on the responsibility of saving the world from itself, you'd better be able to deliver results in a hurry or expect to face the consequences.

An excelent point - especially given the lies that were told to get there and the fact that the outcome was predicted.
