After Quitting Smoking

I quit smoking in December around a week before Christmas. And I can actually notice how much better I feel. Then yesterday evening I smoked one cigarette and I felt so gross. I got some news that triggered a smoking reaction. And this morning I had a sore throat too! I don't feel as good as usual after smoking only one cigarette. I can't believe that I smoked several cigarettes a day...after feeling so sick after only one. To think that I must have felt so gross for so long while smoking.............it's a wonder how I started smoking in the first place. Yuck! Those things are disgusting.

I've quit twice.

Don't let yourself be fooled into thinking you can have that one or two when you're stressed. You'll fall right back into it again.

I was thinking of having a cigarette today...but so glad I don't go through with it.

I honestly am thankful that I quit. Now I have other issues to address...

Wait, I think the cookies are calling me....no I don't have a problem!

I've done the same. Never will I have one again. Twice I'd given up, once while pregnant, started again when I had the baby. Second time I went on a quit smoking course, gave up for 9 months only to start again. It gets harder every time. This time I'm determined never to have even one again.

Well that last cigarrete I just wrote about made me sick. I had a sore throat for a day and then it turned into a full blown flu. That will teach me.:(

I have been stressed and after quitting new years eve, I bought a pack of fags today.

I smoked two and now I am craving.

I really didn't think I would crave.

I am such a looser!:-5

No you aren't!! Stress gets the best of us. Don't beat yourself up over it. Anyone that has been in your situation understands. I lost my job, had sister in law and 9-10 month old nephew temp. living with me and raising 3 boys on my own back in Sept. Trust me if I wasn't smoking then...I would've been!!:-5

Hoping only the best for you:-4

The nicotine dependancy NEVER goes away...Mr N. is always there trying to tempt you back. This is my 4th (ish) time and every time Mr N. nudges me I have some nicotine chewing gum (very low dosage)...it works for me.

Having a ciggy doesn't make the problem go away it just means you just have to start quitting all over again:(

I saw several young Mums pushing pushchairs smoking a ciggy today.....such a shame....I also saw about 30% of the kids walking passed my home going to school, having a cig.....don't know how they can afford it at 13 /14 yrs of age.

You should all just read Allen Carr's "EasyWay to Quit Smoking."

That's how I quit. No patches, no gum, no extra food or weight gain, and no drama. After being a pack a day smoker for 16 years, I've never looked back or felt the need for one. He also has courses all over the place, but I spent I think it was around 20$ on the book and haven't looked back.

Honestly, it's worth looking at.

Hmmm, so far I have not had a huge problem. It's just that some people I get around, and I immediately feel like smoking. Or when I get really mad at a certain man, or even heating about him. And then immediately it triggers a need to light up and suck on a cancer stick. disgusting. As if I am punishing myself.:-5
