There is always sexual tension coming from either party, usually the man...Does this constitute friendship? Is it friendship when one wants sex with the other?

It can be yes. If you have been friends for a long time though and do have sex I think it can ruin a friendship forever.

O f course men and women can be friends, and there be nothing sexually about it.

I have many male friends - nothing sexual about it.

some might have to over come their lust and realize sex will not happen, but being up front with friendship only - they respect that .

My jury's not completely in on this one yet. I always thought it was not possible, yet I have friends on here who are men and who I much enjoy talking with and consider friends, so I may have been wrong at first.

My best friends have always been females. They are more willing to express true feelings, more so than males, and are less prone to exageration and BS.

I know when having a best friend of the opposite sex, you have sincere honest conversation - no BS. Its amazing what you'll learn - insight..

I think yes they can be friends, can they be completely and wholly JUST friends? In my experience not 100%. One or the other will always think about more (most likely the male) and wonder what it would be like to have sex with the other - it's human nature.

Yes! I think women and men can be friends as long as there is trust and there's no hidden engenders .

I have alot of male friends, and I am just friends with them. So, yes, you can be friends with the opposite sex.

One of my closest friends is female. We've known each other on a platonic basis for over 20 years. When we both found ourselves single, it did cross my mind if there could be something else, and I picked up a feeling that she might have wondered herself, but I thought why throw away a good friendship. We're both with other people now and remain good friends. Strangely though, my daughter recently asked if there had ever been anything between us.

I believe it's possible though I think at some point at least one of them wonders what it would be like to sleep together. Not that it is something that has to go beyond wondering to actually wanting. I've had female friends (who aren't gay) want to sleep with me too. So it's not just a male/female thing. I think it has to do with how close you get and a natural human tendency to seek affection.

i of course have the other effect on people no one seeks closer bonds with jimbo, the most likely out come of me spending any time with any one is for them to smack me in the head :wah: :wah:

yeah, it's fun and exciting when you are young...so alot of people think...but as we get older and mature, ummm it's fun and exciting...but just more cautious due to responsibilities that we have as "grown ups"...having to wear fancy clothes and all....:p
