I hate when this happens, I just feel like crying and having a temper tantrum, I come on here but everyone else is sleeping. What do you guys do.

I used to have this problem. My doctor told me to have a long walk before bed (before I had my son), that didn't work. I lived by the sea and it used to wake me more.

More recently I was told to have a hot bath before bed, that just woke me more too. I think in your case and also mine at the time you have so many things going around in your head and worries that it keeps your mind awake when your body wants to sleep.

Sorry I can't suggest anything but I do understand. I now have no trouble getting to sleep most of the time but wake so many times in the night, obviously due to the pregnancy and I guess my body getting ready to having to wake up to a screaming baby soon, lol. I find sleeping during the day so much easier and could sleep for hours without waking, weird.

A nap in the day every day is what I would like.

I used to suffer the same problem...nothing worked....

The trick is engaging your mind fully so your not thinking about anything else...

This is hard to explain without actually showing you....

but what has worked for me is...... when you settle down in bed and you get to a point where you know your not gonna drop off to sleep...

start from a 100 and count down very very very slowly....... say 99 in your head.... as if your batteries have wound down and you can just about say it...something like...

niiiiiiiiiiiiiii teeeeeeeeeee niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii nnnnnnnnn a little pause then niiiiiiiiiiii teeeeeeeeee aaaaaaaaaaettttttttttttteeee

It sounds very silly but it has been very effective...as your mind has to really concentrate in it...but since your going very slowly your mind and body is also very relaxed...

I dont think I have ever got to niiiiiiiiiiii teeeeeeeee ooonnnnnnnnnne

Another one I have tried is thinking of a favourite film, and recreating a scene in your mind...... but for me the counting backwards very slowly is more effective!

Give it a go!

One that works for me is reading a book. I find that it seems to get me tired. Do not get me wrong, I love reading.

I dont drink coffee, and yes I do read sometimes but I find that I will read and then become tired and a couple of hours have passed and I have to get up in 45 minutes for me it's just easier to stay up. I will try the counting backwards though.

Oh, and Nomad (SERIOUSLY)

Crossword puzzles!

Love 'em during the day, but they send me to sleep at night!

Just lay there thinking about the word you're stuck on and it soon turns into zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :D

Oh, and don't keep your pen in your hand.....unless you want a pretty pattern inked on your duvet by dawn! (whoever she is!) :D

The reading is a good idea, I used to do that. Otherwise, watching TV in bed in the dark.
