you know before I did my teacher training......I did the call centre thing.....and we were not under any circumstances allowed to say 'bare with me' because it implied pain and suffering :-2 .........

That earns an automatic lunch detention if a student gives that retort to my question.

I know loads of people hate innit but I'm rather fond of typing it.

Apostrophes in plurals, that's a big pet peeve. "Should of" or "Would of" instead of "Should have" or "would have". "Irregardless"...argh. There's no such word. "I'm just happy to be here"...said on an hourly basis by a former boss. Sets my teeth on edge. I'm sure there are more; I'll think of them, no doubt.

HAHAHA! :wah: Me too!

Any rapper or dude who starts a sentence with "know whad um sayin?" Um NO! You haven't SAID anything yet.

"Whatever." That is so rude. It disregards anything the person you're talking to has said.

"Closure." Especially said after a death or a traumatic event. "So soandso can have closure. Got news for you. Sometimes there IS NO closure.

Peopel who call each other fake terms of endearment while fighting with them. This just happened to me and it made her look like a fool.

The word precious as applied to babies.

Back when I have more.

I'm with you! It's really bad grammar that get's my goat!

I used to have a friend that would say "Could of" instead of Could have.. he would even text it and I would cringe every time! We're not friends any more, but that wasn't the reason (at least not the main reason!) :wah:

Another pet hate is when people get your and you're the wrong way round... can't abide it! It takes everything I have not to correct it in a big red biro and say 'see me after class' each time!
