Obviously good manners is a must for all era's, but how we have to parent kids now is totally different.
Back then kids were seen and not to be heard, many kids used to go out to play for the whole day without parents having to worry that some nutter has grabbed them.
I don't believe parenting techniques that worked back then (with the exception of a few) could work in todays world.

exactly why its so intriguing suzy
Its funny i was only thinking today how when i was little we used to play in the streets all day (where mam could see us mind) but nonetheless its just something i would not allow with LL now. Saying that there was still the same old dirty pervs about then that there is now.

Does anyone remember that programme a few years back where a whole family lived as they would have done in Victorian times? That was brill!
I watched that one Pinks, where one family were the toffs, and all the others were staff! I was very interested in it cos my Grandad was in service when he was young. He was a Footman or Valet or summat, to the Earl of Dudley!..
I wanted to watch this one and bloody forgot!....
