It is hard to imagine Casanova or Rudolph Valentino sobbing their hearts out after the end of a relationship, but the already shaky myth of the macho Latin lover has taken another knock after the revelation that more Italian, or indeed Spanish men than women feel 'heartbroken' when a love affair ends.

Up to 48pc of men say they endure grief and suffering at the end of an affair, compared with only 21pc of women, according to a survey in Europa Institute, which specialises in psychotherapy.

The survey, based on a sample of 2,000 Italians between 24 and 65 years. It concluded that women today, have become more aggressive and self-confident while men have become more soft and sensitive about themselves. Some men were even unsure about their own sexuality.

Oh dear, poor men and Man Kind

buzz- it seems times have certainly changed over the years, not feelings. Men suffered years ago also, but they most likely could not let on for fear of feeling less that a man. Most of today's men are confident enough in themselves to actually let their real feelings/emotions show. Today's strong minded modern woman also vey self confident acknowledge the concept of men showing their feelings. Good thing all around! :)

Need to be smart enough to adjust accordingly, show feelings to one, be indifferent to the other! :wah:

It takes a real man to cope with a self confident women. I often think male chauvanists show a lack of self confidence. On the other hand why do so many women seem to prefer B*&&^%^%^&S that treat them like ****.

I seriously doubt "indifference" is what Cassie was after. Yes, some women want strong and composed, some want emotional and sensitive, hell, some want their man to be all of these, given the situation! But I would guess that NO woman wants a man to be indifferent! Ladies? Agree or no?

Well, I've always viewed men to be the weaker sex! (In so many ways...)

In the British Isles, we used to say that 'A Women's Work' was never done. Women worked in the home in those days 1950s/60s from dawn to dusk. Tending to the children, cooking, cleaning ect. And there were no electric gadgets about either, like the hoover, washing machine ect.
