Snuggled up warm with a good cup of coffee and a great novel while periodically watching the birds in my feeder -- thankful that I DON'T HAVE TO GO OUT!
It's 2 degrees here today.

is that Celsius or Fahrenheit, because 2 degrees Fahrenheit is well cold! I love cold weather actually, its very nippy in Ireland this week, but not really cold, only around the 0-4 degrees Celsius mark, when I lived in Munich it used to be -20 celsius, in the daytime, and snow 4 foot deep. :-2 I loved it!

That's wonderful, Wendy. I guess I never really *believed* I'd lose my parents until I lost one of them. Then I said, "Wow -- it really does happen." :-1
As far as The Bahamas goes, I wish I could hang out with you on the beach -- we'd take long walks and laugh and tell each other we don't look fat in our bathing suits :-4

I was, a moment ago, sitting at a student desk from the late 1800s in a little room in England, smoking out the window and drinking a glass of cider and thinking that there was nowhere else at that precise moment that I'd rather be.

After a bit of a panicky session, I kind of feel like that too.:-6
Sometimes I wonder if it just the contrast. That compared to times when the walls are closing in on me, I suddenly enjoy not feeling that way. Then sometimes I wonder if it is the calm before the storm, so to speak. But whatever it is, that moment existed and for that I am glad.

It was extremely warm here today and I chose a gopher snake to use at the zoo. (Her name is Gophra Winfrey, by the way.

) Gophra's been in "show business" for about 12 years and is a total professional. She hangs from my hand in the sunlight and looks gorgeous.
A lovely family visiting from central England stopped to chat with us. The woman was extremely snake-phobic and could barely even LOOK at Gophra.
After we'd chatted and I'd taught her some things about snakes, she TOUCHED Gophra and stood close to her for a photo!
I felt very happy about that simple moment, because I know she'll remember it and her life is a little richer for having overcome a fear.

Hearing my wife's laughter is a pleasure,
seeing our Grandchildren smile when they "get" what we're trying to teach them, hearing the words "I Love You" from a loved one, enjoying good health, and still having a full head of hair!
