A couple of days ago, rumors started circulating regarding Diddy’s Sean John Fur Coats. The Humane Society of the United States is accusing Sean Combs and his Sean John clothing label of lining his Sean John Hooded Snorkel Jacket with the fur of raccoon dog, a breed of dog raised in China whose fur resembles that of a raccoon.
According to reports, Diddy has responded to the accusations stating he was “completey unaware of the nature of this material.
“I was completely unaware of the nature of this material, but as soon as we were alerted, the garments were pulled off the Macy’s floor and website, Diddy said via a statement. “I have instructed our outwear licensee to cease the production of any garments using this material immediately. I appreciate the tireless work that the Humane Society does and would like to thank them for bringing attention to this issue.
The sale of mislabeled furs is prohibited by The Fur Products Labeling Act. The Act also authorizes the Federal Trade Commission to seek criminal penalties, impose fines of up to $5,000 per violation and to seize mislabeled products.
