Drogba scored both goals vs Arsenal to help Chelsea win the Carling Cup yesterday 2-1...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 371613.stm

Is it safe to say that Drogba is by far the best player in the Premiership at the moment?

Fulham plays Villa next week...And after the last stretch of games Fulham has had hopefully they beat the tar out of Villa...Sry Gal, but it means war now...:wah:

Oh K Snder, we are playing your lot today in the prem, well if you win (which you probably will as its at home for ye) then I won't hold it against you, but if we win, I reserve the right as a villa man to totally go to town on the gloating,

GO ON THE VILLA! :guitarist

Honours even, another draw for the villa, well its not good because we only have 33 points and its march, but then we were away, so I guess its not a diaster as we have a game in hand on a lot of teams, still, I would have loved those other 2 points. Us and Fulham are both in the same boat actually. Interesting, I don't think we are going down though, as there are much worse teams below us, still, not very good either, there is a lot of work to be done at villa park as always! :-5

How in the hell does the USA drop -38 points in Feb after beating Mexico and Denmark?

In any case,..The USA get set for another friendly against Ecuador on the 25th,..which is only about 4 days away...

After their last friendly, while all be it was against their arch rival Mexico in Arizona,..broke records by having the most viewed American Soccer event in their history of the sport...

I know from the U.S's somewhat respectful showing in the World Cup in 2002 can rightfully lay claim to some of the peaking interests in soccer here in America, but shouldn't go unchallenged as what alot of the rest of the world doesn't understand is that more and more kids in America have been playing soccer...Alot more than when I was a kid,..and that was only about 15 years ago...Their has been an ever increasing amount of kids playing the game and it will definitely show in the future...At least from a perspective of American soccer, while not trying to insinuate that we will eventually be better than that of any other country, but I am guaranteeing that American soccer will definitely be better than what the rest of the world are used to...The question is, when...

USA beat Ecuador 3-1...

Landon Donovan scored a hat trick,..his first being in the 1st minute of the game on a poor clearance from one of Ecuador's defenders...

Ecuador countered about 8 minutes later on a back line break down...As for the entire rest of the first half, both had some great opportunities and both had some mental breakdowns in defense...

In the second half the USA just completely dominated Ecuador...Donovan scored his second goal off of a great long ball from midfield setup by Brian Ching that created a race to the goal and eventually a 1 on 1 with the goalie in which Donavon put in the back of the net in the bottom left hand corner...

Not even a minute later Ecuador turned the ball over at midfield that saw Beasley swing out on the wing all alone only to put a brilliant through pass to the top of the box for Donavon to strike home in the top right corner of the goal in stride...

Was a great performance by almost everyone on the US side...

US plays Guatemala on Wednesday...

USA played to a 0-0 draw against a running scared Guatemala side...

They ran and played defense from the US like that of a cat running from a dog...They double and triple teamed Landon Donovan after seeing him score in all three of the first international games played by the US prior to their match against Guatemala after the 2006 World Cup in Germany. In which Donovan has scored five goals in all of those three games including most recently a hat trick against Ecuador...

I didn't get to tell you, I was actually at the Ireland vs Wales game in Croke Park in Dublin last Saturday! What a crap game! And what a fantastic stadium! WoW. Well at least we won, and Stephen Irelands goal was good, the match against Slovakia was better, but we are still a pretty poor international side at present. Whats going on with England, god who would have the England managers job eh? You just can never win!

Well at least it still keeps Man U on their feet, because if that goal hadn't gone in, the title was definately going to be there's! I feel a little sorry for Watford though, I think they have done really well this season, despite being so far down at the bottom.

Ian Pearce of all of them...:wah:

No,..I shouldn't say anything really...I'm not very knowledgeable of the game...That doesn't limit my enthusiasm for it though...

A win at Man City Monday is about the only thing that will make me believe we have an actual ligitimate shot at staying in the premierships...

Fulham has been going down hill ever since their 4-0 loss to Tottenham in the FA cup...

Something I would have never expected after the signing of what should be very promising midfield...

Fulham has alot of work cut out for them or they are seriously going to be a team that can very well end up relegated...

Something I don't want to see at all...

K! Coleman has been kicked out! Lawrie Sanchez is taking over til' the end of the season! He's the coach to the Northern Ireland team.

Yeah...

While I think that it may have been a good move to get Coleman out of there I still think Fulham has a long way to go before they won't be considered a serious contender in being relegated...

Losing to Reading yesterday surely doesn't help anything at all,..and Sheff U beating West Ham doesn't help either...

It's not looking good for Fulham...

Good thing is, is that Sheff U plays Man U, and West Ham plays Chelsea next week...

If Fulham doesn't take advantage of that then we're seriously in trouble...

Chelsea has creeped back into the limelight of potentially overcoming the lead Man U had on them in the premiership...It's no doubt that the final will be a sort of testament to what's in store in the premiership...

The new world rankings came out today at Fifa.com...

http://www.fifa.com/en/mens/statistics/ ... 07,00.html

Ireland seems to have done well in their last handful of matches...Unless of course they haven't and still have managed to win, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt...

Gal may have something to say about them...None the less, gaining 189 points within one month has to be a good thing...

Last month the US went negative 38 points in March despite beating Mexico and Ecuador...I'm still baffled about that...

What is it with Man U and extra time?

My god...They scored a goal in extra time in the EUFA Semi final against AC Milan after being down 2-1 to win it 3-2...

Chelsea is claiming to want the Champions League cup more than any other but it looks like they will have to win against Man U to do that, if they happen to get past LiverPool in tomorrows game...
