I don't refer to mine as a Guardian Angel. It's too Christian a term, perhaps.

She's more like a field guide or annoying commentator. :wah:

Great now she's threatening to speak like Howard Cosell for a month.

We all have more than one spirit around us but only one is specifically devoted to guiding us through our challenges. The others just contribute to the parts that are of interest to them.

If you don't believe me, I don't care.

Definitely yes. I have seen too much, not to. They protect me from my own stupidity. More than once. And I am grateful!

To answer the question....YES, I believe in Angels, all kinds...I've been saved from car accidents, my son walked away from a car accident this past summer that he shouldn't have been able to...vehicle was crushed...and he walked away without a scratch....there is no other way to explain it to me...Plus I am a Christian and I believe in God and Angels...so to answer the question....YES!!

I actually just had to stop ignoring her.

She started shouting at me. :o

We've worked out a truce. For now.

eta: she's got a better sense of humour than me too.

After a while I thought "this is silly-he wants to help". But I was an adult by that stage.

yes. they are there from the beginning.

some are "louder" or more active than others. I used to talk to her when I was younger but didn't pay any attention to her again until I was in my 30s. We had to go to a counselor to work out a few of our issues :wah:

I don't like being told what to do. :D

The funniest times are when she's giving me messages for people and I, apparently, screw it up. Then we argue about how to say it. I'll admit that she knows better than I in those circumstances but... she could be a little more patient with me. ;)

Same for me.

Once you get used to it, it's more comforting. But I also keep in mind that my listening facilities are flawed and I might interpret what she says to mean what I want to hear.

Not that I ever do that.

I do not!

Yeah, well maybe you need to brush up on your delivery methods! :wah:

"Angel of God

My Guardian Dear

To Whom God's Love

Commits me here...

Ever this day

be at my side

to light and guard,

to rule and guide. Amen"

A little prayer I was taught as a child. I still remember it after fifty years.

I have a friend (big believer in guardian angels) she believes we are given plenty of warnings & its only when you choose to ignore them something as serious as a car accident or similar occurs, at first i thought this was a lot of phooey but on reflection now - everyone ive ever known involved in an accident had major issues going on at the time - coincidance? maybe? spooky eh?

There is the odd factor of other people's will and needs that come into play too. Maybe that would be true of one car accident victim but there are usually others affected by it as well. Do both drivers have issues? Sometimes we are just playing a role in someone else's drama too.

I've caught myself being sucked into playing a role for someone before... affirming their "reality". I don't like it.

Specific example: A friend came to visit one day and as she was sitting on the couch talking I kept looking at her and thinking about how ugly she was. It was such a foreign thought to me I knew it was coming from her. I finally stopped her and asked why she suddenly thought she was so ugly. She sighed with relief and told me she was obsessed with that thought for the last two days. It was nice to get it out and over with. She was fine after that.

We all experience painful events in our lives and there are times when we haven't a clue which direction to take. Whilst I believe that these events are often a call for us to change, the idea they are a warning and that if we don't heed the warning, the painful events will worsen, could be very unhelpful to someone who is trying to struggle through. I think it could make them feel worse or more fearful.
