This damn thing is constantly dropping one hour off it's clock!!! I keep going in and changing it and the next day it is right back to where it was. I'll be sending a scalding email and/or letter to Dell, thankyouverymuch, but if anyone has a tip for me, I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks! :-5

OK do you have it in the right time Zone..??? when you change the time do you "APPLY IT"???? Do you have it set to automatically sinc with a Internet Clock??
It sounds like it is going back to a time zone your not in, it is the second tab on the clock.. If you don't select APPLY when you make the changes it won't stay.

A few tips.
If you have XP double click on the clock at the far right bottom of the screen. Choose Internet Time and sync and set it.
Or you can download an atomic clock to keep you in sync.
It's the battery on your mother board. Easy to replace.
Don't expect Dell to do it though.

Ahh....Miss Carla, always with some answers for me!! I will go in and check out the tips you've given me. You have fixed plenty of stuff for me before so I am confident it will work! Thanks Carla!!

Thanks for your help! If Carla's suggestions don't make it happen, I will give this a shot.
I have NO illusions that Dell will even REPLY to anything I send them let alone take care of this! I wonder if sending them some pictures of me with my guns would encourage them to? Nah....
Thanks again!

I will second the battery suggestion. But..isn't your computer relatively new? Didn't you get it just before your crash? I like Carla's suggestions, to.

The computer may be "new" but how old are the parts used to build it.

If it is a desktop the battery is easy to change. If it is a laptop now thats a different story. You have to remove the keyboard and unless you know how to put it all back leave it for the experts.
You have three tap at the the top of the :
1. Date and Time
2. Time Zone
3. Internet Time
Go through each and make sure all are set to the correct time, and zone, and the internet sync checked as well.. the "APPLY" your changes and that should do it. If it changes back tomorrow it could be your battery or you still haven't correctly CLICKED ON THE "APPLY" BUTTON.

The computer is about a month old. Paid a pretty damn penny for it and ANYTHING that goes screwy really ticks me off. Carla, I had already re-set it when I posted and I don't want to go in and put it BACK to the old time. We will just have to wait till I get up to see if it's gone back, then I will be putting all your tricks to work.
Thanks again for everyon'es help! Next option? The Mossberg. :sneaky:

Now I feel pretty silly trying to answer a question in THIS topic but I had to deal with this myself recently. What worked like a charm for me was just opening the bottom of the mouse and cleaning the ball and the rolling arms that move the ball. 'Course if you're talking about a laser mouse that won't work at all! I'm sure someone will be along at some point to tell me I'm brain-dead. And to give you a better clue! :yh_bigsmi

The free ones are great..but I am told they do not remove all spyware. A good inexpensive one is Spy Sweeper from Webroot. I paid $29.95 for mine..and got a $20 rebate on it.

Uh...I don't really know the names of them...
I liked the one where Newman and Cramer was following Jerrys car because it was stolen...I think there was some infatuation with golf clubs in that one but I'm not sure, and they got lost...know which one I'm talking about...

Oh is that the one where Jerry was dating that indian girl, and he kept accidentally making innuendos, and coincidentally Crammer had bought a life size indian statue, and Jerry then had brought it over to Elanes not knowing that the indian girl was over there?

Come to think of it, I like alot of those shows...
I don't really like shows, but I will still watch Seinfeld...
Everybody loves Raymond is kind of funny, but the mother gets on my nerves...I know thats her part, and she plays it well, I just find it so incredibly annoying.

I kind of like "The King of Queens" in doses. But my favorites are "The Office" and "Scrubs". I think that "Scrubs" is the best written show on T.V. Now that it is in syndication, try to catch an episode or two.

No, just that you strike me as a very classy, intelligent, sophisticated woman, and South park is rather a lude, childish, uncensored show. :wah:
