My lobster fishing season starts on Mon the 27th.The first day is called dumping day because this is the day everybody dumps there traps(375 per boat). This is also the most dangerous part of my job. The first three weeks I work my butt off with very little sleep because this is when the money is made. So how about a few good wishes from my fellow gardeners to help keep me safe. I will fill you in on how things are going when it slacks off. Thanks:)
Wish me luck!

Thank you lady cop. And yes I have seen that movie. I hope I never see a storm like that. I have been fishing in 60 mph wind before and it's not fun.

Work your butt off doesn't sound good!
Stay safe, and may it be profitable to you.

I have been to the Caribbean a few times but have never tried there lobsters.I think I will the next time.If you really want a good tasting lobster come out on our boat and have them straight from the trap to the pot cooked with salt water. yummy.

Oh Fisher, I think I've seen some of the things you'll face... I enjoy a
program called The Deadliest Catch... about the Alaska crab fishing.
I'm sure those lobster traps are really heavy, too.
What good luck charms do you take? There are so many tales about
things fishermen do...
(Goes off to make the clarified butter...)

I get a day of rest today, too windy too fish. The first week went well. Nobody got hurt on the boat which is always a plus.I don't think the season is going to a prosperous one though.:-1
The first two days we did ok than the catch dropped to half. The price is not good either. The opening price was $4.75 a lb.It has been many years since we opened with such a low price.Fishing has it's good and bad years and I guess this will be another bad one. I mean I am not going to starve or anything like that. I will just have to watch the money a bit closer. When fishing is bad the money is still pretty good compared to most land jobs.I will just have to cut back on a few things. No vacation in the Caribbean this winter:-1
