The New Buddy List?

I was wondering about this...
I just went to add someone to my friends list but instead of submitting a request that said potential buddy could accept or deny, it automatically added the person to my list.
I *think* this person would have accepted my request but shouldn't they kind of have an option?
I always thought it was kind of cool to submit that request and find it had been accepted.

Well, Red, yours was my most recent budy request, and I did accept you.
I think the way it works is that the person you sent the request to automatically gets added to YOUR list, but you do not get dded to thiers till they accept you.

just for the record 'i dont use the buddy list' but i do class many of you as friends :-4
please dont anyone take offence, i just choose not to use that feature :-6
