Be good to your mother, and don't eat yellow snow.

See your vet., it could be something other than mange. Look it up on the 'net:

What sort of animal?

In our Guinea Pigs it turned out to be a mite infestation under the skin and the vet gave them injections for it.

Mange is a mite, actually, and most dogs have a few to some extent but not all dogs can keep them under control. When they can't fight them off, you see the hair loss and other kinds of symptoms So, is this a dog? Your pet? Vaccinated? How old? Just need a little more info, and I'm sure we can get you hooked up! The general treatment for mange is a treatment that takes several steps and involves a dip or wash in a special solution. Not something you can do at home, unfortunately, but it needs to be done, and quickly. Mange is fatal if ignored.

Buster had four of those 'dips' last summer. It cleared the situation up totally. :)
