What do you do to cheer yourself up when you feel so down in the dumps that all the usual methods fail?

The first thing I do is make sure I've taken my Lexapro that morning

That's a tough one, BGum. What's bothering you? :-6

I just think about the millions of people dying of AIDS in Africa by the week and then my day doesnt seem so bad. I put my problems in perspective and know that someone else always has it worse off then me.:-6

the best way to cheer up is think of poor suzy and all the things she has to put up with having a moron boy friend like jimbo :)

I've had a bad week to put it mildly ,i looked at my beautiful daughter yesterday and realised that i'm still very lucky that she is healthy and happy

i was in the cinema Que there was a guy who had a kid with obvious mental problems and the poor lad was screaming running round had to only tread on a certain pattern part of the carpet the poor dad was having a terrible time fortunately the poor lad did not know much about and this will go for the rest of that poor fathers life

suddenly i realised i had a lot to be thankful for and that maybe i have spent too much time living in the past lately :o

How do you cheer yourself up ?

Flop your right endorphins are released thru exercise & SEX, do the one your think is fun...!!

After crying on a bad day - I'll put music on - Music @ 70's high school fun days

usually helps. I'll find a old movie curl up on the sofa and I find a old Bette Davis Movie "Baby Jane" cracks me up..

I talk myself out of a funk. Feeling funky is a choice. So is not feeling funky. Its not always easy but the more you practice being positive the easier it becomes. Try. Good luck.

Thanks guys!

Cher, lots of things contributed to the way I was feeling that day and usually I just get on with things but the day I posted that, well, I was feeling pretty low.

Sadly there are of course millions of people in this world that are a lot worse off than myself, I never forget that and do think of that to put my own problems into perspective but thinking of others suffering just added to my woes that day.

I just need to accept that that my own problems are important and are worthy of consideration too otherwise nothing would ever be resolved nor would any closure be found.

I’m getting there and just wanted to say thank you to those who posted.

Flopstock, the hugs were much needed, thank you. :yh_hugs

Exercise, sex, positive thinking, music and dancing! I’m liking your thinking guys :) Cleaning the house! :yh_think :yh_wink (((chonsigirl)))

BGum :)

You are absolutely right!

I'm glad you are feeling better. Thinking of others who are worse off does give one a healthy dose of perspective, doesn't it? :-6

Hugs to you :yh_hugs

Hmmmm can't say as I have had much experience with bad days HAH!

riiiight

I come here into FG and post my stress filled threads :( And feel way better when I get a hug from my friends....

Ok actually I will either walk to the park, or take a drive to the country, and armed with my trusty camera I take pictures of beautiful things.

My advice is talk it out a bit, whats upsetting to you. Then do something physical, practical, and useful. Then have a little treat. Finally, take stock of how lucky you really are, as I'm sure there are good things in your life as well as sad things, and of course you are alive, which is fantastic. And don't feel bad about feeling bad, its as natural as the wind and rain, just don't let it stop you doing what you have to do.

((((((Cher, jimbo, minks, Galbally))))))

A walk in the park taking photos sounds like a wonderful release minks and I hope all your future troubles are few.

That’s great Galbally, thank you, that's a really great philosophy to have on life :-6 I will come back and read this thread if ever I feel low again.

For everyone :yh_hugs
