I drive a Pontiac Gran Prix GT, My Wife drives a Buick Lesabre Limited. We both like "GM" cars basically for their ride & safety!

SO IS IT an "IMAGE" CAR or "PRACTICAL CAR - WHICH TYPE DO YOU DRIVE ? AND WHY? :driving:

Cars have never been my thing, despite the fact that, that second only to a house purchase, they are the most expensive thing we buy. My last American car was a 1976 Cad Coupe de Ville, a real piece of crap that gave me no end of trouble until it had 105,000 miles on it and finally settled down. Since then, I have always purchased Japanese cars and haven't had one bit of trouble. Mostly Toyotas. My wife drives a Mazda mX6 and I have a Toyota Camry XLE. The XLE was purchased new, sight unseen, over the internet. Best car purchase I ever made. Handled the whole thing on line and then went and picked the car up. I knew what I wanted, color, options, price etc. I'll keep the car for at least 125,000 or more.

You bought you car over the internet? Was it from a repreputable dealer, or EBAY? If Ebay, see my previous post "buying a car on Ebay".

I bought the car through http://www.carsdirect.com/home, and it was the best auto buying experience I ever had. I had already checked out prices and bought the Camry at the price I wanted to pay. They happened to have the car that I wanted at a big dealer 15 miles from where I live. I would never buy a car through Ebay. I am surprized that you are not familiar with cars direct. They are huge.

2000 S-80 Volvo, 2003 Cadillac Escalde, 2004 Chevy Silverado, no they are not paid for yet...my husband doesn't like my car, we drive the escalde or pick-up. Grey, black & white....you know we are working all the time...hahahahaha :driving:

You guys have great taste in CARS!!! (only the old ones are paid off, like mine. 97 Gran Prix GT, 92 Lesabre Limited. Both bought brand new)

I'd love to see some photos of your antique autos. I love cars as well.

I agree with the above - with a few exceptions. (Aren't there always?!) In urban areas and parts of the country where "you are what you drive" reigns supreme - you find all sorts of folks driving cars they really can't afford. This mixes up the stereotypes somewhat.

In other more rural areas, some of the wealthiest people I know drive little pick-ups or full size trucks. You'd never see them in anything expensive. They want anonymity and they stick to a practical lifestyle which shuns expensive cars.

This is especially true in the Northwest and Middle America. When you look at the wealth in Nebraska for example - you would never know it by looking around the towns and viewing the cars on the street!
