Little House inside My House

I just wanted to brag a littlle.

My husband made this doll house for me several years ago. It has two stories and a fire-place. He noticed one similar to it one Christmas season in Lowes and thought, "Hmmm, I bet I can make that." So he jotted down some measurements and made this house. He put the stones on the chimney one by one and there's a loft-like ladder that goes up to the second story. Over the years, I have furnished it with little things I have picked up at flea markets, dollar stores. My husband made the beds, a large table, and some chairs. We bought a black iron stove to put in the kitchen. I decorate it for Autumn and Christmas and I plan on showing these here in the future.

Since this first house, my hubby has made and sold many more dollhouse. Most of them have been made fron scrap wood and they are from a pattern he keeps in his head. He is obviously very talented, but is modest about it. Woodworking is his fun job.

You know what.............I may just go around with my camera, incognito of course,;) and take some more pictures of his woodworking projects and share them with you.

Oh that's beautiful AFTR! :)

And what a wonderful idea to decorate it each season!

I've always wanted to decorate a dollshouse for show. Please add lots of pics, they'll help inspire me! :-6

PS. I was just admiring your fridge - I love all your magnets! :)

My fridge looks really bland by comparison with its handful of scattered magnets.

Thanks guyz!

I figured out how to make smaller pictures from my camera so I can upload them here.

My hubby's working now and I will go have lunch with him later. The man works about 50 hours a week and then does this wonderful woodwork at home......and makes time for me.;) He's great!

Here is a covered-wagon lamp that he made years ago. I found a small ceramic Amish couple to sit up front.
