Shocked American complains of toilet humour



A McDonald's in the Netherlands has agreed to remove urinals that are shaped liked wide-open red lips.

The decision was taken after a shocked American customer complained to the McDonald's head office in the US. Owner Giel Pijper said the bright red, mouth-shaped urinals, named 'Kisses', are works of art. But a different view is taken of them in America. The urinals are being removed and will be sold off.

Virgin Airways was forced to scrap plans to install two of the 'Kisses' at New York's John F. Kennedy airport after complaints they looked like women's mouths.

They are the work of Dutch woman Meike van Schijndel, designer at the Utrecht-based firm Bathroom Mania! Speaking to Expatica, she said the urinals were designed as a fun cartoon mouth and not as a woman's mouth.

She stressed that the idea her urinals represented a man peeing into a woman's mouth never occurred to her, nor to many men and women she had spoken to.

How interesting. I think I would be just too freaked out to be able to pee into it.

I actually think some of us Americans need to lighten up. I would be amused, not offended.

I mean, come on. OK..a gang of thugs hijack a bunch of planes and attack us...that shocks and offends the American spirit as well it should.

Someone designs a commode shaped like a womans mouth? Naaah...that should warrant no more than a raised eyebrow, and a search for another commode, it you really can't handle it.

I don't buy that "never occurred" business. That's exactly what she intended. It's unarguably a woman's mouth and it makes me think that the connotation is if a female mouth isn't giving b***j**s then it's a receptacle to pee in. It's gross. It doesn't belong in a family scarf-and-barf either. My two cents.

Right! That would be just as wrong. Even if it were a gender-neutral mouth it is... a mouth and there's just something not so cool about peeing into a mouth.

I see that as a more acceptable theme.Woman have been crapping on and giving crap too men since the beginning of time.it would not be that much of a stretch too call it symbolic.

It probably was some hen pecked guy who thought it was funny and leaked it too his overweight troll of a wife and SHE made him complain too whoever because SHE did not think it was funny.

All they need to do is make the mens urinal look like a tree trunk and the womens toilets look like various flowers and all would be happy.
