Just wondering.............. Sometimes I feel like an odd duck in here. I know Snooze and Minks are single, but every one else seems to be married or otherwise engaged.

I'm married but don't want you to feel like an odd duck C2. I'm actually on my second marriage and was single a long time in between so I can certainly remember that time. We're all single sometime in our leaves. Don't worry about girl..

Let's see . . .
You know, I just went over my Buddy List and almost everyone on it is married/involved. Not all, but most of them.
I hope this doesn't affect your comfort level here.
Because we like you :-6

I'm not worried about it, really. But it makes me think sometimes.
I've actually been asked, "So you're in you 30''s good looking girl, no kids never been married, What's wrong with you...."
It's either that or they tell me i'm smart!

My second wife was 34 when we got married. It was her first marriage. It's better to wait until you find the right person than make a mistake or settle for something less. I waited 10 years to find her and it was wotrh the wait..

I remember when I was single, between my two marriages, I would get similar questions as well. So I definitely understand how you feel.
The world travels in pairs, doesn't it? It's quite unfortunate sometimes. :-6

Oh my goodness, my Grandmother!!
I think my Dad's side of the family thinks i am a lesbian or something. All my cousins were married and pregnant by 20, most of them right out of high school.
I went to school and got a job. Hmmm....
I get " You need a man" thing all the time.

A lesbian -- that's funny! People just don't understand it that you aren't married, so therefore they think maybe you like girls
People need to expand their definitions of what is allowable and acceptable -- without putting others in little defined 'boxes' :-6

I don't knowif i could do that. I know there are women that are raising children on thier own and I have the upmost respect for them.
I'm gonna get my self into trouble, I know it, but I would not have a child without a father. Not just so I can be a mother. i think that's a little selfish. No husband, no babbies.

I'm 59 and married 40 years.
At the end of the week I am moving out on my own and will ultimately divorce.
It feels like I've been single for years (without the pleasure of independence).
If you're happy CC, that's all that matters....go where your heart takes you..

I enjoy being single, I do what I please and don't have to run it past anyone before I do it. It would have to be a pretty fantastick man to get me to settle down for good. He'd also have to have the patience of a saint!:p
I'm sorry to hear about you divorce. I hope everything goes your way!

When I was 'just a gal' in the 1960s it was 'expected' that you got married, had kids and lived happly ever after....I was always one to 'conform' ...ha ha ha ! Folks have more freedom of choice now....that can only be a good thing.
If I had been born 30 years later I might have trodden a different path, but who knows !

I'm on my second husband - the most unsociable man in the universe so most people I meet think I'm a single mother and I've stopped telling them I'm not. I have recently told him this so he's making a bit more of an effort to be visible. I have many single friends of both sexes and have a very lively social life. I'd hate to live in a 'couples-only' environment.
My 'best' friend (if you can have a best friend when you are over 40!) is also married to an unsociable man so we go all over the place together. She worries that people think we're a pair of lesbians but it doesn't bother me as long as people don't think I'm the man.
So stay single until that perfect companion comes along, and enjoy it!!
