Do you like having people sing "Happy Birthday" to you in a restaurant? Does it make you cringe? Does your smile feel super glued onto your face or do you feel genuine thankfulness at the survival of tradition in the modern world?

As I am one who hates being made the center of attention, I do not like it at all. My extreme shyness once reached a point where I threatened to leave a staff meeting at work because my boss wanted to bring in a cake and have everyone sing!! She started to laugh it off till she realized I was dead serious.

I don't particularly like the attention, but I'll put up with it just so everyone is happy.

Yep, made me stand in a chair while they sang this silly song. The faster you shook your rear, the faster they would sing. So you get up there and just shimmy away to get off the chair.

I was always delighted when my friends would choose to acknowledge my birthday in any way....:-4

I like that the butt shaking ability gives one a bit of control over the event.

If you shake it slowly do they have to slow down?
