I don't know how many jazz enthusiasts we have in the Garden but we lost one of the best trumpeteers who ever played on Wednesday night. Maynard Ferguson was, in my opinion, the very best, hitting notes that others could only dream of. I met him years ago when he played the nightclub where I worked in Pittsburgh. I listened to him yesterday when they played him on a station in San Diego, without realizing he had passed.

Amazing man and musician!
