Easy'n'safe(1) recipe:

Get some whisky (rum or brandy are OK too).

Don't forget, you need sugar (or honey).

Start to boil some water.

Use a fairly sturdy glass - this retains heat better.

When the water is hot, but not boiling, fill the glass. Leave the glass full of

hot water while the rest of it in the pan or kettle boils.

When the water has boiled, tip the warm water out of your glass, and fill it

up again with boiling water. Don't use your nice cut glass tumblers, BTW. -

just in case.

When the glass is hot, perhaps difficult to hold it's so hot, tip out the water,

and straight away spoon in a good amount of sugar or honey, and pour on

top a generous amount of whisky (or WHY).

Stir that lot up, and add approximately 1/2 the volume of very hot water, which

you probably have on hand.

Drink that lot up, not too slowly, whilst it's still hot. Repeat as desired and

while capable.

Lovely for the winter.

(1) -ish, from at last two perspectives.

I heard a dallop of butter on top and letting it melt was a nice touch as well.
