I had to dress an old man in a pair of those boots for his character in Jean Genet's The Balcony, where he was a bishop and had to be really tall. they were terrible to get on him in in a hurry and I was all fingers and thumbs with the buckles, then we all prayed he didn't fall off them when on stage!
