Has anyone used a "sonic toothbrush"? I am thinking of purchasing one.

Comments on these things?

I use a Rotadent, it is very good.

There are several types of sonic toothbrushes out there, they are so much better then the traditional toothbrush.

Any electric toothbrush is good, although I prefer the ones with a round head, they seem to get in all the nooks and crannys better!

I've already got a "Braun Oral-B Professional Care 5000", which seems OK, but

was wondering particularly about the efficacy of "sonic" brushes.

I have a friend who had a Braun, the dentist convinced her to buy a Sonic but within months she'd returned to her Braun. I'll have to talk to her to ask her exactly why though.

I have the sonic I Purchased for well over $100 USD. I have advanced periodontitis and the dentist says it is helping. I highly recommend it!

Three words....Sonicare! Get one!

Ive been using one for about 2 yrs now. Ill never not have one again. Simply put you will feel the difference. Couple that with a Waterpik flosser and you will have some really solid dental hygiene.

Its worth the money, spend it.

Don't think I've seen these over here....are they expensive? I use a basic Braun but would upgrade if it REALLY makes a difference.

Aside from all the mumbo jumbo, all I can tell you is I can feel the difference.

Another Sonicare user here! I bought mine at Sam's Club for $100. That was for 2 units with the charger stand.

Two words....GO ELECTRIC! You'll be glad.

I'm pretty sure there is a difference in an electric toothbrush and a sonic one. The sonic action does more than move the bristles for you, there's something in the vibration of a sonic that helps remove more plaque than a manual brush or an electric one. I had one for a few years, and I loved mine. It even had a timer on it so that you would concentrate on each "zone" in your mouth for the correct amount of time. My dentist told me that the large majority of people don't brush for long enough. The timed sonic brush helps prevent that. I'd buy another one if it was in the budget right now.
