Oh dear we have lost a dog....

we have been pet sitting for the ex, his little shaver of a dog. I reluctantly took this job on as this little critter is poorly trained, he pee's loads, he torments my pets, he barks and he does not come to his name. He is very very hyper as well. Well for my negative thinking I am paying for it now. He bolted on the weekend and ran away. He and my dog ran out of our yard into the alley, mine came back when called, the other ran, and ran and ran, and now is gone. I am sick with worry and have calls into the shelters with hopes we get this little fart back. I am trying to reach the ex who is somewhere in the USA to get more info as in the vets name, and the dogs tattoo number (which he failed to leave for me) so I can supply these to the darn animal control and this will give us a better chance of getting pooch back. Because if a tattoo'd dog is picked up usually the vet is called first and they have records and will call the owner, but... said owner is away without arrangements. Argh!!!!

So let this be a lesson to everyone, if someone is pet sitting get these bits of info from the pets master it will make life way easier if Pet runs away.

It wasn't a bassett hound pup was it. My neighbor found one wandering town yesterday, tried to find it's owner but hasn't been lucky enough to so far. So I told her I'd try to talk Dave into letting us have him, if she can't find the owners.

From the way you described the animal, it sounds like a dog from the toy group (the smallest ones) to me. What breed is it?

You must be crazy with worry. But at least he has the tattoo so the vet can be notified. I'm sure they will hold the dog until they are able to reach your ex (or until you are able to reach them).

Pomeranians are just beautiful little dogs. But most little dogs have some kind of attitude -- sounds like this one does as well :rolleyes:

Good news, I fetch the little shaver out of hawk at lunch today, seems he is at animal services yipeee he is safe and sound and didn't end up as Coyote bait. Oh I am so relieved. I tell ya his mug shot looks like he is happy there in doggie jail. Sadly this is going to cost me ... argh!!!!

I'm so glad to hear the little doggie is O.K.! This morning when I was walking Buster, I said to myself, "Don't forget to check with Minxsy about the dog."
